And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered Him faithful who had made the promise.
Hebrews 11:11
This is my very favorite scripture. We talk a lot about us having faith.
God puts callings on our hearts. Often they are things that are out of our comfort zone. Moses was a stutterer and he was called to speak. Sarah was barren called to be the mother of nations. This can cause us much stress. We ask ourselves how will it be done.
All things are possible with God. Why? Because God is faithful.
Sarah is our mother because she knew this.
Before I understood this simple yet profound principle I was constantly stressed out.
We were compelled to do things, big things that we had no way possible to do. Many of the friends that we have know over the last 20 years can testify to this. We walked the path and God was faithful to fulfill His promise each time.
It wasn’t until 2011 that I learned and consciously understood that God was faithful. At that time I stepped back and stopped worrying about the how and walked forward instead with the idea that God is faithful.
When we drive we don’t know how and where the turns in the road will happen we just drive and believe that the road will be there under our wheels at 60 mph.
Sarah sacrificed her worry to consider that God is faithful. She is the mother of us all. She was promised to have descendents more numerous than the sand yet she could not have kids and she was like a 100 years old. When her great plus great grand son Jesus died for us he adopted all of us believers into Sarah’s family. We as the daughters of Sarah are each given private promises from God. He is faithful to fulfill them.
In our modern American feminist way we have become impatient. We try to control every situation. Our control leaves no room for God’s faithfulness. Many women become bitter from trying to do too much on their own. Yes we must move forward with action but we are not alone.
Realizing that God is faithful and will make our way smooth. That does not mean that it will go the way we want or expect. Most of the time it doesn’t but He does give us the peace and grace to show his light through us in the process.
All this is for His glory. Everytime we do something that is impossible someone sees it and it gives glory to God. The impossible is what He wants. If it wasn’t impossible the everyone would do it and God would get no glory.
I am not suggesting that we try jumping off a cliff to see if we can fly but we can follow what God put on our heart (if it leads to love we know it is from GOD).
Today, I personally can testify that God is faithful. Does everything always go perfect for me? No but in the end even in devastation, heartbreak, fire, rejection, stuggles, and pain God is faithful and we do and will see what he has prepared for us because we consider Him faithful.
