We saw on the news that the Cherry Blossoms were in bloom. I had been bugging my husband for years to take a trip to DC to see these flowers. We had been to our nations capital many times but never when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. I was excited to say the least. We decided to make it a fun week long vacation stopping at the the Shanandoah River State Park on the way to see the blue bells in bloom. Check out the other blog about the blue bells. While were were in DC we enjoyed incredible meals and live music. Then on the way home we visited the Shanandoah National Park with its waterfalls and stunning vistas.

Finally here at the famous Tidal Basin to see the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom!

We were unlucky because the sky threatened pouring rain but lucky because we found a parking spot right across the street! Parking in DC is impossible but it happened for us that day! We loved this crooked old tree.

This is what heaven must look like.

Take peaceful walk with me.
Rain is here.

The rain came way too soon for me. We had to head back to the car and indoor amusement. But one more fun stop! The Tulips were in bloom too!

So many Tulips!
One of the tulips had fallen off the stem but we decided the CIA would be after us if we took it.

I love this picture. You can see the rain on the flowers. So we headed to the incredible O museum https://kimfrostpinkney.com/o-museum-is-full-of-fun-and-suprises/ . Then on to the Anderson Mansion and museum. Then dinner and Jazz at JoJo’s Restaurant and Bar. It was Creole and American Food. Service was fantastic. I had this amazing creole pasta dish with shrimp that I am still dreaming about. David had the burger that he is still talking about. But the true highlight was the Jazz. Wow.

Wow! They were Good!
