We had a wonderful time at Two Medicine Lake. After 8 miles we decided to do another .6 to see another water fall. Running Eagle Waterfall is uniquely beautiful. It comes right out of a rock wall. Amazing.
This was a surprisingly cool stop! The trail itself was stunning as well.
Interesting Bark! Running Eagle, Lady Warrior
This place was sacred to the Native Americans. I could see why. It had a powerful atmosphere.
We were planning to camp at two medicine campground. It is a first come first serve. The campground had just closed several of its areas and the only one left was full. One of the rangers told us that we could camp anywhere in the Blackfeet area. He was kind of crude so we did not believe him. One of the people we met on the trail recommended that we head north to the road that goes to Grinnell Glacier. There would be a campground owned by the Black Feet called Chewing Black Bones. So we headed back out to the main highway to go north. Just before we got to the main road we saw a flag sign “campground”. Since it was starting to get dark we pulled in. It was an unnamed campground ran by a Blackfeet teenager. It was wooded with no services but we were happy for a spot to park for the night. We were tired after driving and hiking and seeing moose and waterfalls. It was quiet and peaceful there that night. We wanted to get an early start in the morning. We had heard that the Grinnell Glacier Parking lot fills up early so we needed to get there in time.
