A full day of fun stopping at the Prairie Dog State Park and then the Pony Express Museum ending up at the Buffalo Bill Museum in North Platte. We stopped at Penny’s Diner for dinner. It was supposed to be an old fashioned fifties type diner. The burger was left over from the 1950’s. One of the employees was sleeping on the next to our table. I felt sorry for the waitress. She seemed like she was trying her hardest to do a good job but the two guys that worked there were not. This was the firsts time we had eaten out on the trip. It was one time too many.
We headed on over to the camp ground at Buffalo Bill Ranch State Recreation area right on the North Platte River. It is situated right next to the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park that features a Victorian mansion a log cabin and the barn where Buffalo Bill Cody kept his The camp ground was self serve with basic electric right on the North Platte River. We did a lovely hike along the river.
The next morning we went to the Buffalo Bill Museum that included the mansion, the stables, a cabin and lovely grounds. It is fun to see how live was lived nearly two centuries ago.
